Movie-A-Day #313: Almost Famous (2000).

Rolling Stone magazine published it’s first issue on this day in 1967, featuring John Lennon on the cover. It quickly became an influential touchstone for the Summer of Love generation, but these days it seems that its political reporting is far more relevant than its music coverage. It’s definitely not what it used to be, but that hasn’t stopped the nostalgia-fest for the good ol’ days, like Cameron Crowe’s excellent semi-autobiographical “Almost Famous.”
