On this date in 1895, German physicist Wilhelm Röntgen published his first groundbreaking scientific paper about his accidental discovery of x-rays. His work would go on to start revolutions in both physics and medicine. And, of course, to provide inspiration for the world of science fiction, like Roger Corman’s whacked-out but completely scientifically impossible
