Movie-A-Day #329: Black Friday (1940).
November 25, 2011
If you want to avoid the corporate consumergasm that is Black Friday today, I don’t blame you. Your sanest bet is to either shop at small local businesses or, better yet, stay home and avoid the consumer frenzy all together. If you opt to stay in, do it with “Black Friday,” a forgotten little chestnut featuring both Boris Karloff and Bela Lugosi, a fun B-grade thriller about mad scientists and gangsters and hidden loot.
