Movie-A-Day #305: Prospero’s Books (1991).

November 1, 2011

William Shakespeare’s final play, “The Tempest” first opened on this day in 1611 at Whitehall Palace in London. Peter Greenaway’s adaptation “Prospero’s Books” did not open on this day, but it does feature the great Sir John Gielgud and about a zillion naked people. I’m not sure what Shakespeare would think of that.
