Movie-A-Day #297: The Dark Knight (2008).

Bob Kane, the creator of Batman, was born on this day in 1915. While this month’s movie-a-day selections are dedicated to horror films, and a costumed comic book hero doesn’t exactly count as horror, “The Dark Knight” is definitely the most genuinely terrifying of the many Batman adaptations. Christopher Nolan’s script raises disturbing questions about the dark side of human nature, and Heath Ledger’s interpretation of The Joker is one of the screen’s all-time great boogeymen.
