Movie-A-Day #74: Julius Caesar (1953).

Beware the Ides of March! That’s the warning Julius Caesar failed to heed, leading to his assassination on the 15th (Ides) of March. Thanks to Shakespeare that warning has been remembered throughout the ages, and arguably the best film version of his play “Julius Caesar” was this one, featuring Louis Calhern in the title role, surrounded by Marlon Brando, James Mason, John Gielgud, Deborah Kerr, Edmond O’Brien, Greer Garson and George Macready.
