Today is National Salesperson Day in the United States. Making a career in sales can be a rough, ego-crushing life even in the best of times. But today’s bleak economic climate adds an extra layer of despair to the tragedy of Willy Loman in “Death of a Salesman.” It’s one of the great American plays, and Dustin Hoffman’s performance in the film version is one of his most memorable roles.
