Movie-A-Day #50: Single White Female (1992).
February 19, 2011
Today marks the end of Second Hand Wardrobe Week. So is this supposed to be a week to celebrate wearing other people’s clothes? Like hand-me-downs and vintage clothing shops? Or is it celebrating the things you sneak out of your roommate’s closet so that you can dress like her and obsessively steal your identity? You know, like “Single White Female”? That’s exactly the kind of behavior that deserves its own week of recognition.

I have to say that psychological trauma and obsessively stealing a roommate’s identity wasn’t the kind of clothing reuse that I had in mind when I created Secondhand Wardrobe Day. But, hey, thanks for the mention!
Oh, I understand. Unfortunately there aren’t too many films out there that focus on vintage or upcycled clothing. There’s a void in the genre just waiting to be filled!
